Radiation Therapist

Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering prescribed radiation treatments to patients in a safe, accurate, and compassionate manner. Working under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist and in collaboration with Medical Physicists and Dosimetrists, the Radiation Therapist ensures precise treatment delivery while maintaining patient comfort and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Treatment Delivery & Care
- Administer radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions and approved treatment plans.
- Verify treatment parameters and precise patient positioning prior to each session.
- Monitor patients continuously during treatment and respond appropriately to their needs or concerns.
- Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, side effects, and essential safety guidelines.
- Assist in CT simulation procedures, positioning setup, and patient immobilization techniques.
Safety, QA & Documentation
- Operate and maintain linear accelerators and specialized radiation therapy equipment safely.
- Follow all established radiation safety protocols and rigorous quality assurance (QA) procedures.
- Maintain highly accurate treatment records, patient logs, and clinical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and Dosimetrists to optimize care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and strictly adhere to regulatory and accreditation standards.
Education & Licensing
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.
- **Certification by ARRT** (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiation Therapy required.
- Valid State Licensure (as required).
Experience & Skills
- **1–3 years of experience** as a Radiation Therapist preferred (New graduates may be considered).
- Experience working within a radiation oncology clinical environment.
- Familiarity with modern radiation therapy techniques, setups, and advanced equipment.
