Medical Courier Job in Winnie, TX
Position Summary:
The Medical Courier is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transportation of medical specimens, supplies, and documents between healthcare facilities, laboratories, and other designated locations. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory standards and maintains the integrity of sensitive materials during transit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick up and deliver medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, and confidential documents according to scheduled routes and urgent requests.
- Ensure proper handling, packaging, and temperature control of biological samples to mintain specimen integrity.
- Adhere to HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations when transporting sensitive patient information.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, including time, location, and chain-of-custody documentation.
- Inspect and maintain courier vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.
- Communicate eƯectively with dispatch, healthcare staƯ, and laboratory personnel regarding delivery status.
- Follow all safety protocols, including infection control and hazardous material handling procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and specimen handling preferred.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent driving and travel between healthcare facilities.
- Exposure to biological specimens and potentially hazardous materials (with proper PPE provided).
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 – $15.00 per hour
