Role Overview
Riceland Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Specimen Collector to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting biological specimens in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, ensuring strict adherence to laboratory protocols and maintaining high standards of specimen integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood, urine, and other biological samples using appropriate techniques.
- Perform phlebotomy and catheterization procedures while maintaining aseptic conditions.
- Ensure accurate labeling, handling, and preparation of specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Collaborate with lab management to ensure safety compliance and quality standards.
- Train new staff on proper collection techniques and laboratory procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in specimen collection or a similar laboratory role.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and aseptic laboratory techniques.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and laboratory management practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and team communication.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical setting.
