Job Summary

Qualifications

The Attendant must be at least 18 years of age, and demonstrate competency to perform the task as assigned and have dependable transportation. The attendant must not be a legal parent, foster parent or spouse of the parent of a minor who receives the service, cannot be the spouse of the individual receiving the services, except for FC services and not be desigriated by DADS case manger on DADS authorization for community services form as “Do Not Hire.”

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the standards of the policy and procedure of the agency.
  • Cannot have same schedule/overlapping schedule with one or more agencies.
  • Must report when not able to go to work.
  • Must call from client/individual/consumer home to report In/out every day worked.
  • Under NO circumstances is an attendant to transport a client/individual/consumer in a vehicle.
  • Under NO circumstances is a attendant to give medication or shots.
  • Perform personal task: Bathing, Dressing, Grooming, Feeding, Exercising, Tolleting, Positioning, Assist with self-administration of meds, Routine hair and skin care, Transfer or ambulation of client, Shopping, Escort, Laundry, Meal Preparation, and Cleaning
  • Household services essential to healthcare at home.
  • Promotes the client/individual/consumer mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest.
  • Establishes a relationship with the client/individual/consumer and family which transmit trust and confidentiality.
  • Reports any change in the client/individual/consumer mental or physical condition or in home situation to the supervisor at once.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  1. Must be able to stand up to four (4) hours a day while working on various surfaces in client’s home, as well as, walk throughout client’s home.
  2. Must be able to lift and carry up to thirty (30) pounds such as groceries and cleaning supplies
  3. Must be able to push/pull pallets in wheelchairs, and lift on occasional basis.
  4. Must be able to climb stairs up to 2 levels daily while making visits.

Job Description PCA

  1. Must be able to balance while assisting clients to walk and climb stairs on a daily basis while performing client care activities.
  2. Must be able to bend, twist, use rotating motions and reach while performing various client care activities.
  3. Overall environment: May be exposed to various heats, cold, wet/humid conditions while travelling to various clients’ homes. May be occupationally exposed to blood, and other potential infectious materials. Must be able to comply with infection control procedures. dures. May be confronted from time to time with animals of client’s. Client’s homes may have atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, gases and/or poor ventilation.
  4. Must be alert and able to identify hazards, should one occur, in order to avoid them, by reporting immediately or, if directed, to take corrective measures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.80 per hour
