Medical Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support physicians and nurses by performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take and record patient vital signs and medical histories
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist during exams
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Perform basic laboratory tests
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by a physician
  • Conduct EKGs, remove sutures, and change dressings
  • Assist with minor procedures and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked

Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Greet and check in patients
  • Update and maintain patient medical records (EMR/EHR systems)
  • Handle telephone calls and messages
  • Process billing and insurance paperwork
  • Manage office inventory and supplies

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program (certificate or diploma)
  • Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Work Environment:

  • Primarily a clinical office setting
  • Frequent interaction with patients, physicians, and staff
  • May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • Exposure to bodily fluids and infectious diseases possible

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 – $18.00 per hour
